About Us

wac_monogram_white_transparent.png

Daisy and Liam Skelley moved into Wheal Andrew Counthouse in the spring of 2018, and after a complete renovation are delighted to welcome you to their beautiful home.  With nearly 30 years of combined experience in looking after guests in luxury ski chalets in the French Alps and on superyachts, they hope to make your stay as relaxed and carefree as possible.

Home Team

Two dogs and two cats are resident at Wheal Andrew Counthouse.  They are very friendly and love to greet visitors but do keep your bedroom door closed to keep them out!  None of our animals have access to our guest bedrooms

The House

The House

Wheal Andrew Counthouse dates from 1820 and was built as the mine offices, or counthouse, for the copper mine here at Wheal Andrew.  The Counthouse was the public face of the mine where grandeur and solidity were important for it's image of prosperity. The miners would have been paid weekly here and lavish 'Adventurers dinners' were held here to discuss the mine's prospects with investors.  Twelveheads sits in the valley that was 'the richest square mile on earth' in the early 19th Century, due to the extraordinary levels of tin and copper production.
